OUTSELLING THE COMPETITION
At most smaller events you will usually have zero competition. If you do have a competitor, it will most likely be at a major sized event. However, with our lower wholesale prices, you will be able to sell our Regular pouches at $10.00 or more per bag. Some of my dealers even sell it for $14.00.
At $10.00 per bag or 3 for 27.00 you will most certainly be selling at a lower price than almost any competitor. They would probably be selling theirs at $12.00 to $15.00.
HOW TO MAKE VINO SLUSH
Just add one bottle of any kind of wine, and one bottle of water to the Vino Slush mix. Mix it up until the mix is thoroughly dissolved and stick it in the freezer for 6 to 8 hours or over night. Let it thaw, if needed, enough so that you can get a spoon down into the bottom of the container to thoroughly stir it up.
The wine flavoring sometimes sinks to the bottom as it freezes, so it is very important to get your spoon all the way to the bottom of your container. Because you need to thoroughly mix up the entire batch of slush to get all of the flavoring mixed together.
If you just scrape slush off of the top of the batch without thoroughly mixing, it won’t taste right because all of the flavor is at the bottom.
You can also make Vino Slush in a blender for faster results and perfect consistency. Just put half of the bag into a blender, add wine and ice. Blend until smooth. That’s all there is to it. Directions are on the back label.
SAMPLING VINO SLUSH TO THE PUBLIC
In the state of Ohio, we are not allowed to give away free samples of any alcohol without a wine or liquor license. But, you can provide samples with non alcoholic wine and non alcoholic bourbon. And since the mixes contain no alcohol you should have no problems.
But always check with authorities to make sure.
If you live in a state where you are allowed to give away samples using real wine, so much the better. (A great idea is to team up with a winery to share booth space to not only cut your booth space cost in half, but you can also sample with real wine using their wine license.)
Use the cheapest brand of non-alcoholic wine you can find. When sampling I used wine that cost $3.99 per bottle. Don’t waste your money on expensive wine. It isn’t needed at all. It tastes great with cheap or expensive wines.
(NOTE: Some states may have different regulations, so check with your authorities. Make sure they understand that your mixes do not contain any alcohol. The customer adds the alcohol when they get home.)
There are many brands of non-alcoholic bourbons and whiskeys on the Internet. So, no liquor license is needed for selling
our bourbon slush mix either. Folks have been making bourbon slush for over 100 years. Another popular product you can sell.
SAMPLING METHODS
ICE CHEST
This method is what I used to use when I did shows. And most of my dealers today use this easy method. It’s by far the easiest
and least expensive way to transport, store and enable you to offer samples. This is the method I would always recommend.
However you can also use other methods:

ANOTHER EASY, ADD-ON PRODUCT TO SELL...
BREAD DIPPING MIXES
We sell our Bread Dipping mixes in bulk with a minimum of 5 lbs. Your cost is usually less than a dollar including the bag and label. You can easily package them into small plastic zip lock bags and apply your own labels. It’s just one tablespoon of mix per bag. Only takes about 30 seconds to package one bag and label it. We have two flavors: TUSCAN GARLIC and SICILIAN HERB.
You can easily sell these wonderful bread dipping mixes at $4.50 to $5.00 or 3 for $12.00. Just add these mixes to a cup of olive oil and shake them up. Pour it onto a plate, set out some pieces of crusty bread (we recommend baguettes) with tongs or toothpicks and let the customer sample it themselves. Easy, easy up-sell.

If you are starting a new business and you don’t have any experience with that type of business you need a mentor to train you as to how it’s done. Someone to teach you this business.

ANOTHER OPTION: Before I started selling wine slush mixes I had been selling dip mixes that you eat with chips, pretzels, fresh fruit, etc. I sold the dip mixes for seven years until I added the wine slush mixes. When the wine slush mixes became so popular that I couldn’t manage doing both, I sold my dip mix business to concentrate solely on the wine slush mixes. During the time I was selling both the dip mixes and the wine slush mixes I noticed two important things.
One, I was making more money selling both products (no surprise) and two, the fact that I was now selling two very popular products got me accepted into some big shows that I had previously not been accepted for. Since I now had more to offer, they now wanted me in their shows. So, that also made me more money. Hmmm…. So, the bottom line is – you will make more money and get into some bigger shows by selling dip mixes along with your slush mixes.
It’s not mandatory, of course. It’s purely an option for you. But you would only need to add four to six dip mixes in order to make a lot more money. And with not much more work involved either. Because of that you will see in my Wine Slush Business book that I refer a lot to dip mixes as well as the slush mixes. The reason I suggest dip mixes as my first choice as an extra add on product is because I have personal experience with them. Plus, I don’t know of any other product that is easier to add, with the least amount of extra work (preparing samples) and is more popular than dip mixes. At any event you will see throngs of people at dip mix booths. They are just so popular. So, to guide you through the pitfalls of the dip mix business I have written another book.
